I love music and have been involved with it since childhood. I have been a student in music schools, taught by several teachers and I have worked with a lot of musicians and people in the field in many countries all around the world.

I first started taking guitar lessons when I was a kid, in a music school in Nea Smyrni. Despite lasting for a lifetime (and it couldn't be otherwise), my relationship with the guitar has had many ups and downs.

So after two years of classical guitar I made the switch to electric. But without someone to inspire me to grow as a player, I soon gave up and ended up playing a little by myself just to pass the time.

The turning point for me was when I came across Aggelos while searching the net for guitar teachers. I studied his resume, his students' success stories and I said to myself "That's it!"

About a year ago I was looking for direction as an amateur musician and I decided to start having lessons with Aggelos. I will not repeat the well-known and appreciated facts about his method, knowledge and passion and his ability to communicate all this to the student. I will simply state that now, one year later, I am a completely changed guitar player. With Aggelos's help I am becoming the kind of musician that I enjoy and appreciate. My involvement with the guitar started since childhood. Seven years of unsuccessful attempts made me give up for a big part of my life. But the bug was there and resurfaced when I was about 36 so I decided to  give it another shot. I discovered that I could find teachers with extensive knowledge of the guitar, and particularly my favorite, acoustic electric guitar. So I started taking private lessons at first, and later I went to a music school, but during all these years of learning, there was always something that didn't feel right. I was learning, but in a sloppy way.

I happened to discover Aggelos through his Instagram videos of his students' playing. I was impressed by the quality of their playing, regardless of their level. So I decided to approach him in order to begin lessons with him.

I have been Aggelos's student for about 1.5 to 2 years. I must admit that during the first year I faced many difficulties and his teaching seemed very hard, because I was used to a sloppy way which is the exact opposite of what Aggelos does. I had trouble learning even the simplest things.

But Aggelos has a gift that I hadn't found in any other teacher before. The gift of patience and persistence to find your weak spot and immediately offer a solution.

To strive for excellence. Despite all the years I had been learning guitar before,  I found it very difficult.

This year I am beginning to see that all the efforts of the previous year have paid off.

A lot of my problems have found their solution. My playing has become effortless and I can easily understand things that I couldn't understand before. It's like I can see a whole new path before me.

Aggelos is an excellent teacher and anyone would be fortunate to have him during their first steps. He is very knowledgeable and has a solution to every problem, simple or complex. The student's progress is quick and precise. I am glad I found him even after ten years. He is a very kind person who listens to every student. My first contact with the guitar was in my school years, starting with classical at first and a bit of electric guitar later. As is often the case I lost touch during the preparation for the national exams and later in university... From time to time I tried picking it up, either by myself or with a teacher but practice seemed like a chore and the lessons were very formulaic.

With Aggelos practice time has become something to look forward to, since he always asks me what I want to play and what my goals are! The lessons don't feel like studying from a book, but each one adresses a specific problem in my playing.

I think we have now completed 3 years of lessons and not even once have I thought about stopping!

An excellent guitarist and wonderful person!! His knowledge is impressive and makes him an extremely capable teacher who can help his students advance towards any goal they may have. My personal experience is that after having lessons for about a year and a half I am already able to improvise over blues and rock tracks. After not having touched the guitar for at least yen years, one day my daughter bought a toy-guitar. No doubt remembering images of me playing guitar as seen in old photographs she asked me: "Dad, where's your guitar? Why don't you play anymore? Can you teach me how to play?"

That was it!!! Without thinking it twice I went to a music store in downtown Athens and bought a classical guitar. I began fiddling around with it and in a few days my old passion, my great love for the guitar resurfaced after having been dormant for more than ten years, due to various reasons!

I soon discovered that trying to do serious work by watching internet videos is a complete waste of time and energy. I was coming from a completely different musical background and it was very hard for me to adapt and learn.

My collaboration with Aggelos started some time ago. I was still in the fifth grade when he took me on and we began to work together.

From the start I knew he was a very capable teacher but it didn't take long for me to realize that he is a also a great person and a true professional. We are currently working towards a classical guitar degree and although I am a senior in high school, we are making steady progress.

Music has always been my refuge, and one of the things I choose to spend my free time on. But to learn how to reproduce the music I listen to on a musical instrument, or at least try, was more than just a wish, it was a need.

So I decided, albeit a little late, to give it a try. I owed it to myself.

After choosing a musical instrument (mainly based on my taste in music), I bought a guitar, an amp, every piece of gear that I could think of (even though I was holding the guitar as if it was a stick), and then it was time to find a teacher.

I checked out many teachers, people my friends knew about, friends of friends, somebody's cousin etc. They were all great, but... There was always a "but". So, as I often do, I asked Google...

Aggelos was among the search results. Nice website, good reviews, great resume. I thought "Yeah Ok, many people have those". And then we talked on the phone.

Even from that first phonecall I thought "I may not know him as a teacher but I know he is the kind of person I like". And that was enough for me. After 2 years of lessons with Aggelos what I can say is that many people are good guitar players but Aggelos's love of teaching is something that I don't think I will find elsewhere.

He is a teacher who is passionate about what he does. This is why he can make someone who doesn't know how to properly hold a guitar be able to play Pink Floyd in just 2 years and he is even happier than me about it.

I struggled with the guitar for a long time before I found Aggelos. We have been having lessons for a year and a half and already I have overcome many of the problems I was facing. I believe that the greatest asset a teacher can have, regardless of subject, is the ability to make the student easily understand what they are taught. Aggelos will break down every piece to its most basic elements to make it easier to grasp, and if you have a problem he will find a way to solve it. If you still find it hard he will easily move to another piece without sacrificing your development. I highly reccomend Aggelos. My only regret is that I didn't start the lessons with him sooner. A teacher who knows his craft really well, his method and the way he teaches is exceptional. Having already taken 5 years of guitar lessons at a well-known music school I felt that no matter how much I practiced

my playing was not getting better. I reached out to Aggelos and after 1.5 years of lessons he has helped me correct things that I didn't know I was doing wrong and were hindering my development but aslo to develop my playing in general. We are currently working on the "Rockschool International Music Performance Arts Exams Board" syllabus and I am preparing to take the 6th grade electric guitar exam.

It was a summer afternoon in the village sqare. Little kids were playing children's games while the older kids were hanging out, often exchanging much treasured mix tapes. One day I got my hands on a tape labeled "Summer 2000 mix".

Soon I was pretending to play guitar in my bedroom holding a broom...

Due to circumstances and other priorities my desire to learn how to play the electric guitar was put on hold. Eventually I joined the "self-taught" club with a borrowed acoustic, but it was not enough. The electric guitar was still calling to me. Until one day in a Covid

lockdown-fueled fit of honesty I got an electric guitar and amp.

The lockdown passed, my free time shrunk, but I kept on playing, albeit in my own self-taught way.

And while I began to fear that electric guitar just wasn't for me, I decided to give it one last try. This time I was going to be methodical, so I looked for a teacher.

There were three main considerarions: Finding the right way, the correct  medium and the time. Soon after the "Summer 2000 mix" incident I started high school and I also enrolled in a music school, looking for ways to approach the object of my desire. But I was told things like "Electric guitar does not lead to an official diploma, we reccomend piano as an instrument" and "We have to speed up your music theory lessons in order for you to get a theory certificate." As a result I stuck with it for only two years. I retained some knowledge that would later come in handy during my "self-teaching" years but all in all the experience was discouraging. I was now in my 30s and I lacked the patience to get lost in mandatory rules of harmony.

I wanted to learn to play electric guitar.

In terms of medium and time, online and asynchronus courses ideally suited my daily routine. In the post-covid era online was easy, but the "asynchronus" part was tougher.

Aggelos was introduced to me as I was about to quit, by a very dear person. She told me: "I have found the right electric guitar teacher for you! Online asynchronus lessons, with as little theory as possible and technique development by playing songs that you like, plus he has a Les Paul*." I just had to talk to Aggelos personally to make sure that we were in the same wavelength.

In our one and a half years of online, asynchronus lessons Aggelos has managed to make me believe that it's easy to learn to play electric guitar. As long as there is willingness and a little time everyday, even it is only 15 minutes, which some days is all that I can spare anyway. From the start Aggelos organized the lessons taking my musical tastes into account, often devising exercises within my favorite songs. This way not only am I not bored playing exercises but I find them to be a relaxing warm-up, so that my hands can tackle the piece we are studying at any given time. He put my teenage obsession on a steady track. We started our lessons around the end of winter of 2022 and before summer I could play the first few bars of the solo from "Highway to hell". We finished this year with the solo from "Don't cry" and and I'll be working on "Back in black" during the summer, getting closer to my beloved Rory day by day...

Aggelos is first and foremost a person who loves what he does and has the wonderful gift of being able to put his heart and soul into it. When Aggelos took on my 9-year-old son to introduce him to the electric guitar, the whole thing seemed complicated because the kid wanted to play not only classic rock songs but also more modern stuff that he loves, in which the electric guitar plays a leading role.

As a result he is now learning guitar with a teacher who is really good at conveying his knowledge and communicating with younger children.

At the same time my now 12-year-old son is having a great time playing music that he likes, so it is certain that he will never want to give up the lessons for any reason. Here is my history with music in brief. Since childhood I liked to experiment with various instruments such as keyboards and guitar but I always gave up when facing even the slightest difficulty. As a result I stopped trying to learn an instrument, as I was too scared of failure.

But for years, with growing maturity, it had always been in the back of my mind to seriously learn to play the electric guitar, with perseverance and methodically, and with the right guidance.

So last year I made the decision to start having lessons with Aggelos, even though I was now 35 years old, with a wife and child.

I have just completed a year of lessons with Aggelos and I have played the guitar for two years. During this last year I have succeded in tidying up my technique and finding my own rhythm and I have started to take iniciatives towards achieving my goals and even played my very first live gig. At the same time my passion for music continues fo grow.

In short, on top of his great way of teaching and his communicability, the thing that amazes me in Aggelos is his ability to keep every student's passion for music alive!

In the last year and a half I have seen a tremendous improvement in my playing. His teaching experience enables him to reach even the most difficult students.

That's exactly what happened: One year later I can play Hey Joe by Hendrix, Santana's Europa, I am learning Hotel California by the Eagles, I have advanced in music theory and pentatonic/blues scales, I can play funky patterns, voice accompaniment, I have learned much about the instrument and of course I have good gear which is inspiring and rewarding to play. Aggelos has also become a friend! He has managed to motivate me so much that practice comes naturally to me (about 30 to 60 minutes every day). What's more, and this may seem obvious but for me it isn't, especially in the Greek male-dominated music scene, his thinking transcends all stereotypes about guitar soloing, namely that it is a man's game. One last thing that I have observed, as a former business student myself is that Aggelos is a real professional and he always treats his "customers" in an organized, planned and well-structured way and he always does what he says, something that I believe is missing from the Greek music industry. Anyway I would recommend him to anyone without a doubt.

After about a year of lessons with Aggelos I would like to state my impressions. When I started these lessons I was curious about the results and my only motivation was my love of music.

Today I can honestly say that Aggelos can help you achieve things that you always admired and never thought you could do.

His knowledge and experience along with his methodicalness (which really impressed me) give the student what they need to advance quickly and correctly. My relationship with the guitar started sometime in the 80s while I was in school. It was a very different time. With no internet and videos to learn from, me and some friends learned how to play by listening to records and teaching each other. As a result the amount of knowledge was limited and soon my interest weaned, so I put the guitar aside after about a decade. But while lessened, my interest was still there.

In the time that passed I tried many times to take up the guitar again, but I didn't know where and how to begin.

My improvement was evident with each lesson and my playing level is bound keep going up, because the beggining was the hardest part and once a solid foundation is built all other things will come. And with Aggelos's method they will come in the right order, steadily, quickly and effortlessly.

For the last ten years I have been dabbling in acoustic guitar. It goes without saying that there is no progress without consistent work.

I started lessons with Aggelos without having ever played an electric guitar. After assessing me for only a few lessons it was clear to me that Aggelos had a plan for me to realise my goals, mainly repertoire and improvisation.

I started having lessons with Aggelos about 15 months ago. Before that I had been playing guitar for 4-5 years with various teachers, but my playing was not improving even though I practiced for several hours a day. Upon starting with Aggelos i quickly discovered that the reason I was not progressing was some technical problems I was having (strumming, rhythm, picking etc.) and the lack of a strong foundation.

At once we started working and fixing the problems one by one, an arduous but necessary process and building the proper foundation. These lessons, even though they are small-group lessons, are personalised to address the specific needs of each student.

Aggelos has shown me the way to approach and work on each technique in order to improve it, something that no teacher had ever done. As a result, despite the extremely limited time that I can allocate to practice, I am getting better every day and my playing is rhythmically correct and clean!

I wholeheartedly recommend Aggelos to anyone who wishes to learn to play guitar regardless of their level!
